Partners serves the Eastern Wisconsin counties of Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Calumet, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, and Northern Milwaukee.

ENERGY AUDITOR/FINAL INSPECTOR (Brown Deer)

POSITION: Energy Auditor / Final Inspector

SUPERVISOR: Weatherization Program Manager

LOCATION: Brown Deer

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Energy Auditor / Final Inspector assesses homes for energy efficiency improvements to be performed and conducts follow-up inspections on eligible client homes. They are responsible for quality control, energy audits, field inspections, completion of all the necessary documentation, and related field activities.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Enter all handwritten audit information into the computer, prepare work orders, agreements, purchase orders, send out bid requests for heating equipment if required and all the necessary documents that are required leading up to the completion of a Weatherization job.
  • Participate in required training and meetings, and develop strong computer skills to adequately perform computerized work and WISWAP duties. Read, decipher and adhere to the rules and regulations on Weatherization Manual and Weatherization Field Guide.
  • Perform final inspections on weatherized homes as assigned, take the steps necessary to authorize the correction of deficiencies, and coordinate the performance of quality control checks on all completed units within three months of their completion.
  • Work very close with foreman performing work on projects you audited and provided a work order. Ensure that issues encountered by foreman on the job are worked out. Do not allow changes to the work order without your approval.
  • Assist in the duties of other employees during their absence and/or when assigned. Perform weatherization measures unassisted on jobs that are determined to be “one person jobs”.
  • Develop a close relationship with sub-contractors performing work on jobs you provided an energy audit and work order.
  • Assist the Program Manager, on an as needed basis, in the selection process based on priority of the cases. Schedule and perform weatherization audits in conjunction with Home HQS inspections for all housing programs following guidelines set forth by the state/federal government.
  • Implement all aspects of the HOME Rental Rehabilitation and Program, including but not limited to client relations, conducting HQS inspections, developing project work scopes, supervising contractors performance, and ensuring contract rehabilitation compliance.
  • Assist in the duties of others during their absence.
  • Foster relationships with peers, and supervisors to ensure a harmonious work environment and professional relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Weatherization Director, and/or the Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational and/or professional experience in the areas of energy audit, carpentry, insulation or any other related building trade.
  • Prefer someone with Quality Control Inspector certification from the Building Performance Institute.
  • Computer knowledge and experience preferred,
  • Capacity and willingness to learn the operations of the blower door, pressure diagnostic detector, carbon monoxide tester and other new products and equipment to improve older dwelling, and be willing to share and train other personnel these skills.
  • Capacity and willingness to seek licenses and certification in the Home Improvement, Home Rehabilitation, Weatherization and Energy Conservation Professional Field.
  • Ability to work in demanding environments and with people of diverse personalities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Able and willing to supervise and train unskilled and skilled personnel under your supervision.

WEATHERIZATION CREW LEADER (Brown Deer)

The Crew Leader/Foreman is responsible for the tools, equipment, materials, and staff assigned to weatherize, rehabilitate, and improve homes that qualify for the weatherization program. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Supervise, train and assist the Weatherization Technicians ensuring that all work performed is completed in a safe and professional manner. Ensure that the work performed is of the highest quality and consistent with the State’s Weatherization Manual and Weatherization Field Guide.
  • Procure materials for an assigned job from the Program Manager or his designated substitute. Ensure that such materials are properly installed and accounted for and/or returned to the Supervisor of Inventory and/or Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Assume responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned and ensure that such equipment is properly maintained and used in the proper manner as defined by the manufacturer and/or field supervisory personnel.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all documentation including work orders, mileage, equipment inventories, invoices, client agreements, damage reports, and any other required documentation.
  • Procure materials and equipment as directed by the supervisory staff, ensuring that all purchase orders, invoices and other relevant documentation are present and forwarded to those responsible for such documents.
  • Establish good client/staff relationships at each jobsite, ensuring that the crew demonstrates the proper respect and courtesy towards the client and that the jobsite is cleaned up upon departure.
  • Respect clients’ property and personal matters. Maintain confidentiality of clients’ personal information.
  • Report any unique situations and/or any proposed additions/changes in the audit to the Auditor who prepared the audit and when necessary to the Program Manager. The Crew Leader and Auditor must agree to proposed changes or addition to the energy audit and work order.
  • Train Weatherization Technicians to operate the blower door, pressure diagnostic detector, carbon monoxide gauge digital tester, and other equipment.
  • Present a professional and reputable image of Partners as it relates to your responsibilities and those of your group.
  • Foster relationships with peers, and supervisors to ensure a positive, team-oriented work environment and professional relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

JOB DUTIES:
The Weatherization Technician performs duties that relate to rehabilitation and weatherization of customers’ homes. These duties include, but are not limited to, insulation of attics, insulation of sidewalls and floors, installation of vents, weather-stripping and other weatherization, home repair and energy measures as assigned.

– Develop and use skills in home improvement, rehabilitation, weatherization and energy saving techniques.
– Safely and adequately operate tools and equipment utilized in the performance of tasks.
– Assist in loading and unloading of department vehicles.
– Assist with the maintenance and inventory control of equipment, tools and material.
– Responsible for satisfactory completion of assigned work.
