Financial Accountant - Sheboygan

Job Duties:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to support our Finance team. This role will work closely with the Accountant II and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage core accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accurately and on time.
- Prepare and process checks for approvals and board meetings.
- Provide employee wage information to Human Resources as needed.
- Allocate and assign expenses to programs and funds under Finance Director guidance.
- Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted accounting standards and procedures.
- Update employee payroll withholdings for new hires, terminations, transfers, and changes.
- Manage and monitor petty cash, ensuring proper documentation and controls.
- Generate and issue invoices to clients/customers.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for financial statements.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field plus 3 to 5+ years of experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 1+ years of experience preferred.
- Experience with Sage50 or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accepted accounting practices and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Job Duties:
The Weatherization Technician performs duties that relate to rehabilitation and weatherization of customers’ homes. These duties include, but are not limited to, insulation of attics, insulation of sidewalls and floors, installation of vents, weather-stripping and other weatherization, home repair and energy measures as assigned.
- Develop and use skills in home improvement, rehabilitation, weatherization and energy saving techniques.
- Safely and adequately operate tools and equipment utilized in the performance of tasks.
- Assist in loading and unloading of department vehicles.
- Assist with the maintenance and inventory control of equipment, tools and material.
- Responsible for satisfactory completion of assigned work.
- Attendance and participation in work related training and seminars as directed by supervisor.
- Respect customers’ property and personal matters. Maintain confidentiality of clients’ personal information.
Foster relationships with peers, and supervisors to ensure a positive work environment and professional relationships. - Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Preferred: Experience in construction, carpentry, insulation, roofing, HVAC, or other hands-on trades OR demonstrated experience using tools/equipment in work, training, or personal projects.
- Required: Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on, physical work daily.
- Willingness to learn weatherization/insulation techniques, home improvement skills, and how to use diagnostic equipment used in assessing the energy efficiency of a home.
- Ability and willingness to learn to read and decipher work orders and conduct basic math related to construction and material estimation.
- Ability to interact well with diverse personalities.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in demanding environments and extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to use ladders and work at heights of up to four (4) stories.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- A valid Wisconsin driver’s license, auto insurance, and a good driving record.

Job Duties:
The Energy Auditor II assesses residential properties for energy-efficiency improvements and conducts final inspections to ensure quality and compliance. The position plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, energy-efficient housing solutions for eligible clients.
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits and final inspections on residential homes.
- Enter audit data and prepare all required documentation including:
- Work Orders
- Agreements
- Purchase Orders
- Bid Requests, (for heating equipment when required)
- Perform quality control inspections on completed units within required timelines.
- Collaborate closely with foremen and contractors to ensure work aligns with approved scopes.
- Approve any changes to work orders and address field issues as they arise.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors.
- Assist the Program Manager with project prioritization and scheduling.
- Conduct Home HQS inspections and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Support implementation of HOME Rental Rehabilitation Program, including:
- Client communication
- Work scope development
- Contractor oversight
- Compliance monitoring
- Operate specialized diagnostic tools such as blower doors, CO testers, and pressure diagnostic equipment.
- Participate in training, meetings, and continuous professional development.
- Assist team members and perform field work as needed, including one-person jobs.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to Weatherization Program policies, manuals, and field guides.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Background in energy auditing, carpentry, insulation, or related building trades.
- Required: Wisconsin Energy Auditor Certification.
- Preferred: BPI Quality Control Inspector (QCI) Certification.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn program systems (e.g., WISWAP).
- Willingness to learn and operate diagnostic equipment and train others.
- Ability to pursue additional certifications in weatherization and home rehabilitation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in diverse environments and with a variety of personalities.
- Proven ability to supervise and train both skilled and unskilled personnel.
